We have been members for a long time, enjoying the classes including spin, circut, and total body platinum. Child care and and swim lessons for our son have been great. Recently, our Y has decided to add a Hyrox class and kick the spin class out of its existing space, into basically a hot closet. There is no room to move or breathe. While I understand they are trying to create ways to recruit new members and retain old ones, they have made some of the existing happy members quite unhappy with the way they have handled the spin class—we have basically been shoved in a closet and now you risk losing more members. Please reconsider your decision or come up with a better solution, because this is not a good one at all!!!!

We canceled our $1200 a year membership after they refused to allow me 3 daughters (ages 5, 8 & 10) to use the kids back floats that they have at the pool, that have always been available to use in the past. I was given 3 reason why this is: 1. Bc they only allow people who are paying for swim lessons to now use them (even though there were no swim lessons scheduled for another 2 hours) 2. Bc they don’t want them to get damaged (not really sure how you damage a foam pad on your back while on a pool ) and 3. Bc they’re “expensive”. I looked up the ones they have online and they are $8.95. Secondly, multiple times I’ve went and wanted to use the hot tub only to find it’s closed for repairs. Third, multiple times I’ve went to use the pool only to find it’s closed for a week (sometimes longer) for maintenance Fourth: My 3 children were made to get out of the pool bc a class for senior citizens was getting ready to start a class i the pool, of which there was about 7 people & the pool is huge. I called the night before and asked if the kids were able to use the pool during classes and was told “yes, that’s not a problem as their is plenty of room”. When I brought this to their attent

I love the YMCA on Shallowford Rd. It's very family oriented. I love that it's Seniors friendly. There are multiple classes available to Seniors for strengthening exercises and the gym is open for continued joint support. Seniors visit on a regular basis and I've seen friendships formed with people of the same age group with similarities as well as with other age groups.

Amazing place with a great community! YMCA Gym is more than just a place to work out — it feels like a second home. The gym is always clean, well-organized, and equipped with everything you need for strength training, cardio, and overall fitness. The staff is friendly, professional, and always ready to help. I really appreciate the positive atmosphere and the sense of community here — people are respectful, motivated, and supportive. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, YMCA is a perfect place to stay healthy, strong, and focused. Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about the Hamilton Place YMCA, especially their Live Strong program. From the knowledgeable trainers to the supportive group classes, every part of this program has played a major role in my healing after cancer. The staff genuinely care, the environment is encouraging, and each session helped me feel stronger—physically and emotionally. I’m deeply thankful for the positive impact it’s had on my recovery.
